# Discussions in Mediathread

Discussions can only be enabled by instructors of Mediathread courses. To participate in a discussion, click its link. As when editing compositions, you will then see a list of saved items and selections (yours are filtered by default) and a discussion editing panel; selections are embedded and previewed in discussions just as they are in compositions.
