# How do I manage my course navigation links?

You can reorder the items in your course navigation, or rename or remove any item

Your course navigation is your main tool to organize your students’ online learning experience in a way that clearly communicates which content and activities are important. To avoid confusion among your students, make visible only the tools you will be using. Organize your site in a way that aligns with your learning goals and course content. Use your own syllabus as a guide to help you determine which tools you will need, in what order they should appear, and which can be hidden and need not be seen by students.

To reorder or remove items from your course navigation, click “settings” at the bottom of the left hand navigation bar. In settings, you can select navigation items to enable or disable, and you can drag and drop the order of the enabled list. See [How do I manage Course Navigation links?](https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12933-415257079) (**Canvas Instructure Guide**) for more detailed information.

Once you’ve made changes, you can view the new navigation from the student perspective using the Student View feature. To enter Student View, click the button labeled “Student View”  in the upper right corner of the window. See [How can I view a course as a test student using Student View?](https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13122-415261153) (**Canvas Instructure Guide**) for more information.
