Sometimes you may want to allow a TA or another instructor to present a poll you have created. In this case, everyone sharing the poll needs to be part of a team in Poll Everywhere.
Create the team
Contact the CTL to request the creation of a team. You can write to columbiactl@columbia.edu, zoom into open hours, or call 212-854-9058. A learning designer will create a team for you and can make you and anyone else you designate a manager on the team. Once you are a Team Manager you will be able to add people to the team yourself.
Share the Poll
Individually, polls cannot be shared to any of your teams. Polls that you want to share must first be moved or added to a folder you create in your activities dashboard. Once the polls are in the folder you can share the folder by clicking on the three vertical dots associated with the folder and selecting the “Share” option. You will then be asked to select which teams you want to share the folder with. Once you have shared the folder with your team members in those teams will have access to the polls through the “Shared with me” tab that is located on the left hand menu.
Present the Poll
Shared polls can now be accessed and presented by the team members through the “Shared with me” tab on the left hand activities menu. Note that team members will not have the ability to edit the polls, and cannot add new polls to the same shared folder. Only the owner of the folder, and by association, the owner of the polls can edit or add polls. When team members present a shared poll the responses to the poll are saved under the presenter’s account and not the owner’s account.
Accessing poll results of your TA
If you want to access the results from a poll one of your team members presented in their class, do so by first creating a report of that poll. Once that report is generated you have the option to to “Select presenter” from which you want to see results. This will give you immediate access to the currently saved responses for that team member.
