To create an assignment that won't be graded, use the “Assignments” tab in CourseWorks.
Steps to Follow:
- Navigate to the "Assignments" section in your CourseWorks course.
- Click "+ Assignment" to start creating a new assignment.
- Enter a title and description for your assignment.
- Set the "Points" value to 0.
- Select "Not Graded" from the dropdown.
- Check the box that says "Do not count this assignment towards the final grade".
To set up a "complete/incomplete" assignment, you will need to also use the “Assignments” tab in CourseWorks.
Steps to Follow:
- Navigate to the assignment you want to set as complete/incomplete and click on "Edit".
- In the assignment settings, locate the "Display Grade as" dropdown menu.
- Select "Complete/Incomplete" from the dropdown menu.
- Save your changes to the assignment.
When using the "Complete/Incomplete" option, you don't need to assign a specific point value to the assignment. You can mark an assignment as "complete" or "incomplete" directly within the SpeedGrader interface.
Please note that the Gradebook will display unpublished assignments, but you cannot enter grades for unpublished assignments. “Not Graded” assignment types will not appear in the Gradebook.
